10am to 2pm
Lock 16 Center will be hosting Indiana Dunes Park Rangers Bill Smith and JP Anderson for a series of educational presentations. In a noon session entitled “Lock 16 Lunch & Learn,” Ranger Smith will be discussing the 50th Anniversary of the Indiana Dunes State Park, the upcoming 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service, and the newest Chicago landmark, the Pullman National Monument!
Rangers Smith and Anderson have a combined 55 years of ranger experience. Ranger Smith also serves as a agricultural education and science teacher throughout the school year. These rangers have shared their presentation across northwest Indiana and and Northeast Illinois area for several years, from the Field museum to the Morton Arboretum and beyond. This unique opportunity to learn more about modern conservation and the historical context behind some of our nation’s treasures is definitely something worth experiencing while they’re here in LaSalle.
