Trek and Track Program
Girl Scouts will learn how to keep our environment clean when venturing outdoors through The Leave No Trace Program. Scouts will participate in a variety of games and activities and become familiar with the characters and principles such as Pointer the compass representing “Know Before You Go” and Pitch the tent representing “Be Kind to Other Visitors”.
$16.99/scout (minimum of 8 participants)
Girl Scouts will:
Develop a sense of stewardship for the natural world
Understand how to be safe and prepared for adventures in the outdoors
Understand how to reduce impact on the environment when recreating outdoors
Introduce the idea of making responsible decisions when participating in outdoor activities
Girls Scouts involved in Brownies and Juniors will have the opportunity to earn the following badges during this program:

LaSalle Canal Boat and the Illinois & Michigan Canal
Step back in time to 1848 and enjoy a tour on the mule-pulled replica canal boat “The Volunteer.” The tour includes a fifteen-minute Mule Tending class where scouts will learn about our mules Larry and Moe on a ninety minute canal boat ride guided by period dressed crew. Guides will share the history and importance of the Illinois and Michigan Canal.
$8.00/scout (no minimum number of participants)
