About the Canal Corridor Association

The Canal Corridor Association, a 501(c)3 non profit, preserves history, protects nature and open space, and creates destinations where people can learn and have fun in the I&M Canal National Heritage Corridor from Chicago to LaSalle/Peru.

The Canal Corridor Association is designated by Congress as the local coordinating entity for the Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor, the nation’s first national heritage canal.

The LaSalle Canal Boat and Lock 16 Visitor Center is owned and managed by CCA.

All proceeds generated from the Lock 16 café, gift shop and LaSalle Canal Boat ticket sales are used to subsidize school trips to the LaSalle Canal Boat and support the operations, mission and preservation of the I&M Canal National Heritage Corridor.
